Best Beach Read -- Part Four

Well, I'm still trying. Yesterday, my daughter and I were going to spend a day at the beach. All her (four) part time summer jobs are over, and in a week or so she's going back to college. Yesterday was going to be our big day for mother-daughter bonding amid sand and sun.

Guess what? Yesterday, she became quite ill and instead of going to the beach with her, I took her to the doctor. Today, her symptoms worsened, and at her doctor's advice I took her to the emergency room. After getting an IV and some meds there, she's well on the mend. But, still, no beach! Today, I spent the day at home nursing her and trying to bring her fever down until I finally called the doctor.

The best laid plans...and the awesome responsibility of being a mom, even of a college age daughter. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'll keep trying. That's all for now.
