Best Beach Read -- Part Three
Just driving by to say "hi." Somehow, life has become very busy. Unbelievably, I still haven't managed to take that beach day I said I was going to take.
On the day I planned to go to the beach, my dear daughter came down with a nasty summer cold and stayed home from her summer job (after not missing even a second of her FOUR part-time summer jobs). Naturally, I decided to stay home that day and make her some chicken soup. She's doing great again, and I'm glad she got the rest she needed. She's such a go-getter, and I'm really impressed -- however, she's so busy I worry she doesn't get enough down time. Yeah, she's in college and I still worry. That's the role of a mom, I've learned over time.
A week or so ago, I received a letter from someone from my long ago past, one of my Peace Corps Bolivia buddies. I'd lost contact with everyone except one Peace Corps friend who had also lost contact with the rest, and the organizing buddies tracked me down through the alumni association of my college. It seems Peace Corps Bolivia is having a huge reunion next weekend at Estes Rocky Mountain Park in Colorado, and they wanted to invite everyone they could track down. So, I've spent a chunk of time making reservations for my dear husband and me to attend.
Added to that is the wonderful on-line class I'm taking, taught by the best-selling author, Susan Wiggs. I love her books, and consider this chance to learn from her as a tremendous opportunity.
I won't mention the other stuff that's keeping me busy -- but when, oh when, will I get to the beach?
Hope you're having better luck at sunning yourself on the shores of an ocean, lake, or stream than I am, preferably with a cold drink and a great book.
Well, that's all on this end.
xo, ciao,
Rita
